Incredible story in AS, via Catalunya Radio. Might take a couple of tweets to explain it.

Barcelona set up their own camera team trained on Pepe of Real Madrid over 4 Clásicos last year to put together a film of him playing dirty.

The intention was that Barça would anonymously leak the video of Pepe's dives and off-the-ball fouls as part of a smear campaign against him

Since many at Barcelona knew of the video's existence, Guardiola halted it leaking as it would've been clear that it had come from the club.

But—rather than being a lone voice of reason amid these acts of madness—AS venture to say Guardiola originally approved this smear campaign.

The footage—which would likely have been put on YouTube to try to stir up a media witch-hunt of Pepe and unsettle Madrid—remains unreleased.
