Alberto Aquilani
What would an LFC forum be without the debate of Aquilani.
Alberto Aquilani insists there is no desperation on his part to leave Liverpool, admitting he would "love to make a mark" at Anfield this season.
Aquilani's big-money switch from Roma to Liverpool has failed to produce rewards so far, with the Italy international making less than 10 starts in his debut season. Earmarked as the replacement for Xabi Alonso, Aquilani fell a distance short of previous standards set by the Real Madrid man.
However, a year on loan at Juventus has revitalised the 27-year-old. Voted by many as Juventus' player of the season, Aquilani naturally wanted to stay where his football was succeeding, but a deal could not be negotiated.
Since then the creative midfielder has enjoyed an excellent pre-season, creating several goals for his Liverpool colleagues, suggesting he may have a future under the passing ethos of Kenny Dalglish. Speculation continues that Aquilani will leave, with Fiorentina strongly linked, but the Italian insists he will knuckle down if he remains at Liverpool.
"I'd love to make my mark at Liverpool. The transfer market is open until August 31, so we'll see what happens," Aquilani said. "All I can say is that there has been a lot of talk. Obviously I would takethe offer of a permanent move into consideration with Liverpool.
"I wasn't following the Italian media much over the summer, but whatever happens I am at a great club like Liverpool.

Re: Alberto Aquilani
He was one of the best players in Pre-Season, yeah pre-season doesn't count for an awful lot but we all know Raul cannot play a full 90 minutes as he normally dies out about the hour mark, AA would be perfect to come on and do the same role. I loved watching him during the pre-season he was immense and I hope he features this season.

Re: Alberto Aquilani
The fact that he wasnt even included in the Sunderland squad was an indicator he was gone, he put himself in the shop window in the pre season friendlies. Its a shame as he obviously dosent want to be here and Kenny isnt arsed to pursuade him otherwise so ill take Kennys opinion on it rather than anyone else. Good luck hope its finally sorted and im glad its not another loan.
Re: Alberto Aquilani
Glad for the lad it will be sorted one way or another.
Tbh, one or two of the players that KENNY wants, could have done with the game time in preseason .

If Milan don't buy AA for £5m they will have to pay a penalty fee. Hearing it's £12m.

Re: Alberto Aquilani
Kenny Dalglish has explained the club's decision to allow Alberto Aquilani to join AC Milan on loan - and praised the Italian's attitude over recent months.
Liverpool have reached an agreement which, subject to a medical, will take Aquilani back to Serie A this season. The deal includes an option to make the move permanent.
Dalglish told Liverpoolfc.tv: "It's a great move for Alberto. He's got his wife and kid over there. It was difficult for him here.
"When he came back his pre-season training was excellent. We gave him a few games, he did well in those games. But the problem for us was trying to get him in the team. We couldn't get him in the team.
"Obviously everybody wants to play and Alberto is moving over to a fantastic football club. He goes there with the best wishes of everyone and we hope it works out for him, because he was never a problem in any way, shape or form."
Aquilani has represented Liverpool 28 times since his transfer in 2009. He spent last season on loan at Juventus.
