Families of Hillsborough disaster victims have accused the head of Scotland Yard of making misleading statements about an inquiry into the tragedy and have called for an investigation. They say that Sir Bernard Hogan-Howe, the Metropolitan police commissioner, failed to tell the truth last year when he claimed to have made a statement to Lord Justice Taylor's 1989 inquiry into how 96 football fans died.

Re: Hillsborough
All Premier League, Football League, Football Conference and FA Cup matches on the weekend of April 11-14 will kick off seven minutes later than originally scheduled as a mark of respect and remembrance for the 96 Liverpool fans who lost their lives at Hillsborough 25 years ago.
A joint statement from the leagues and the FA said: “The match at which the disaster took place, the FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest on 15 April 1989, was ended six minutes after kick-off, at 3:06pm.
In the Premier League, Football League and Football Conference, matches due to kick-off at 3pm on Saturday 12 April will now kick off at 3:07pm, with the minute before kick-off (3:06pm to 3:07pm) seeing a period of silence observed at all grounds.
“The first FA Cup semi-final on Saturday 12 April between Wigan Athletic and Arsenal will now kick-off at 5.07pm with a minute of silence between 5:06pm and 5:07pm. The following day, Sunday 13 April, will see Hull City v Sheffield United begin at 4.07pm with a minute of silence between 4:06pm and 4:07pm.
“Fixtures kicking off at other times on Friday 11, Saturday 12, Sunday 13 and Monday 14 April will observe the same etiquette with matches starting seven minutes later than originally scheduled.”

Re: Hillsborough

As part of the club's plans to mark the 25th anniversary of Hillsborough on Tuesday, April 15, Liverpool FC have launched a special 'Patch for the 96' campaign.
When the club comes together for a memorial service at Anfield next month, a quarter of a century will have passed since the tragedy occurred and 96 supporters lost their lives.
The official commemorative iron-on patch - which costs £2, with all profits to be donated to Hillsborough families - is available to purchase from official club stores and the Official LFC Online Store.
First-team players will show their support for the fundraising initiative by wearing the patch for each of the Reds' final three home fixtures, beginning against Manchester City on April 13.
In addition, the Liverpool Ladies team will also sport the patch from the opening match of their season, with City on April 17, until the Women's Super League takes a mid-season break in June.
Margaret Aspinall, chair of the Hillsborough Family Support Group (HFSG), commented: "The 25th anniversary of Hillsborough is an important milestone for the families.
"The 'Patch for the 96' is a special way for all football fans from across the world to come together in support and is a commemorative sign of unity."

Re: Hillsborough
The 3,15pm cut off point will not be factor in these Hillsborough inquests. All evidence after will be heard, says coroner Great news
Six questions for jury: 1. Did layout of Hillsborough contribute to deaths and should dangers been appreciated?
2. Was enough done to stop pens 2 and 3 getting overcrowded at stadium?
3. Was enough done to prevent crushes outside Hillsborough + the approach to stadium
4. Should anything been done to prevent crowds into pen 3 and 4 after outer gate was opened?
5. Could anything more been done by emergency services including police and ambulance service?
6. What was conduct of fans (who did not die)? Did that play any part in disaster
