Mersey Travel have released the following notice for fans travelling to Saturday's Barclays Premier League encounter with Stoke City at Anfield.

This weekend (Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 August, 2013) Mersey Tunnels will be carrying out highway repairs around the toll plaza at the Wallasey end of the Kingsway Tunnel.

Fans planning to travel to Anfield for the Liverpool versus Stoke game may experience delays and should use the alternative route through the Queensway (Birkenhead) Tunnel or use the Soccerbus service, the direct bus link running from Sandhills Station to the stadium.

Delighted with that but Jesus we were scrappy in the 2nd half. Falling over one one another, but it's the first game.

Oh and Couthino squaring up to nzonzi was priceless, Lucas stepping in:P
