I looked at the CB options because people where preferring one over another... gotta say id prefer Cahill over Shawcross, Shawcross is brutal on the deck when a tricky forward is going at him, Cahill seems a bit more adept in this dept although some criticise his positional sense but im sure thats something Kenny and Clarke could iron out.......... Oh for a 24yr old Hyypia

I think if it came down to one signing left, i would go for a striker. I would imagine that FSG don't work that way though. What striker to get, I don't really know.
Reason for striker over defender is that I expect Kuyt to be playing in midfield for a goof few games, therefore we need a quality backup striker.
In saying that though, if we were to sign Cahill in the morning, I would be very happy and he would get plenty of game time .

Last season or the one before he had a hole in his heart and had to get some kind of surgery. Was in an Interview I read about him.

I just liked his style in the handful of games he played for us. Never was a fan of Johnson so anyone is better imo

1st ive actually ever heard of that. I just dont like people that are happy to sit on a wedge and see out their contract knowing full well they are gonna see very little 1st team footy. Either they want to play football or look at digits in the bank, while money is wonderful if I had the chance to play Football at a decent standard id be getting as much in as I could because lets face it the career aint that long in the bigtime.

Well in fairness a fit Johnson over a fit Degan, I'd still have Johnson.

Actually find it hard to compare the two if I'm honest
