Tony Barrett on The Times:
Liverpool’s hopes of seeing off Barcelona’s attempts to sign Daniel Agger have suffered a setback after the defender’s agent, Per Steffersen, confirmed that he would be open to a move to the Nou Camp.
Barcelona had a €17 million (about £15 million) bid for Agger, 28, rejected by Liverpool last week before the Anfield club attempted to secure his future by appointing him vice-captain.
That move has not prompted Barcelona to end their interest in the Denmark captain, however, and with an improved offer likely, Liverpool are now facing a battle to hold on to their second longest serving player.
Though Agger would not agitate for a transfer, he recognises that a chance to move to the Spanish champions may not occur again and Steffersen has indicated that his client’s future is likely to rest on whether or not Barcelona are able to agree a fee with Liverpool.
“It would be up to the clubs to agree a fee for his transfer in order for that to change,” Stefferson said

Barrett - West Ham are prepared to offer Downing a salary package close to the £70,000 a week he earned at Liverpool.

Re: LFC Transfer Rumours
@11.42am from the Echo
Liverpool FC are closing in on the signing of left-back Aly Cissokho on a season-long loan from Valencia.
The Reds renewed their interest in the 25-year-old Frenchman after failing to agree a fee with Granada for Guilherme Siqueira.
A loan deal has been agreed in principle with a view to a permanent move next summer. He will boost Brendan Rodgers' defensive options and provide competition for Jose Enrique.
Cissokho, who has also been linked with Sunderland, began his career in France with FC Gueugnon before moving to Portugal in 2008 to sign for Vitoria de Setubal.
The attacking full-back made such an impact that within six months he was snapped up by Porto where he won the league and cup double. He also helped them reach the quarter-finals of the Champions League.
Cissokho returned to his homeland in July 2009 as he headed to Lyon for 15million euros. A first senior cap for France followed.
Last August he was sold to Valencia for 5million euros but the cash-strapped La Liga outfit have been looking to off-load him this summer.

Re: LFC Transfer Rumours
Russian source Sport Express report that Willian wants to sign for Liverpool [€35 million] although Zenit are willing to offer €40 million
Alexey Yaroshevsky @YaroLFC 2m
Dont worry, Zenit wont get him. Too strong is his desire to leave Russia
Artur Petrosyan @arturpetrosyan 20m
Some news from #Anzhi. #Zenit are ready to pay more than #LFC for Willian but he refuses to move there. He desperately wants to leave Russia
