I just dont get writing off Mignolet because he is not as good as Reina. I can guarantee whoever we sign to replace Suarez wont be as good as him..... but sure what can we do if (A) The players of the same caliber are not out there? (B) Players in that bracket dont see us as a viable option with no CL football?

Yes but what im saying is we arent in the position to sign players in the same league as Pepe thats all. Mignolet cleaned the boards at the Sunderland POTY awards so he cant be that bad and I went on to the Sunderland forums and their fans were going mad at the price we were getting him for, they reckon £18mill should have been the starting price for him.

Qh he is decent, that is all. if it is rodgers plan to replace pepe with him,its a mistake ino.

Swansea City have agreed a £6m fee with Liverpool for the England midfielder Jonjo Shelvey and will discuss personal terms with the player in anticipation of concluding a deal before the weekend.

The 21-year-old, a £1.7m signing from Charlton three years ago, has been limited to a peripheral role at Anfield and had been told by Brendan Rodgers that his situation may not improve and he can leave in search of regular first-team football.

Liverpool fielded interest from newly-promoted Crystal Palace, together with West Ham and Norwich, but Swansea's bid was deemed acceptable.

Shelvey, who made his senior England debut in November's defeat in Sweden, only made 17 Premier League starts over his time at Anfield but is expected to seize the chance to move to the Welsh club, with the added incentive of Europa League football, to kickstart his top-flight career.

I am glad that its jonjo and not hendo being shipped out cause hendo is a better prospect.

Liverpool Football Club have confirmed Jonjo Shelvey has completed a transfer to Swansea City.

The 21-year-old spent three years at Anfield after joining from Charlton Athletic in May 2010.

In total, he made 69 appearances for the Reds, scoring seven goals.

Everybody at Liverpool FC would like to wish Jonjo all the best for the future.

He has something about him I like but never showed it enough I guess

Best of luck lad. I remember having a discussion with someone on here cant remember who but they didnt want to see us signing "experienced" players as it was hindering the development of him and Pachecho. Those 2 have found their level now, Hopefully Spearing is out the door too!

Sky Sports Germany: Dortmund have agreed a fee with Shakhtar for Mkhitaryan. Only final legal details remain.

Somehow i think that this one will drag on a little longer........

Ive read this elsewhere but dont know how true it is or who said it.


Mkhitaryan, deal done for BVB. 23 milion euros and contract that will keep him at Dotrmund until 2018.. Liverpool wanted to pay of 23 millions in 3 different stages, Shaktar wanted cash upfront. Dortmund had the cash by selling of Gotze to Bayern. Mkhitaryan waited for Liverpool to make the final deal, that never happened. It´s a bad bad bad sign when your main target for the summer goes to another club simply because owners and MD Ian Ayre don´t want to pay money upfront ( money that was promised to Brendan this summer ). he made the best out of the situation by selling Carroll and Shelvey to find founds for Aspas, Alberto and Mignolet, and now they can not support him by bringing his MAIN target. Well done yanks and well done idiot Ayre....
