Heathlawn Animal Sanctury was broken in to last night. 5 of our dogs were stolen, and horrifically some dogs that are just after having serious surgery and due follow up veterinary care. Along with the dogs, they also stole our supply of leads, collars, ransacked the storage rooms, office and shattered windows. Guards presently there investigating. More details to follow. Such a horrific thing to happen to these poor animals who have already been through so much in their lives. When will this ever end???

Renowned Liverpool journalist and author Brian Reade to provide son Phil with gift of life

RENOWNED Liverpool journalist and author Brian Reade is donating a kidney to save his son from a life-threatening illness.

The former ECHO writer, whose son Phil suffers from renal kidney failure, can only donate a kidney thanks to a new medical advance.

It will allow surgeons to carry out a transplant procedure which overcomes the problem of them having different blood groups.

The revolutionary advance, called the ABO-compatiable transplant procedure, means Phil won’t have to use a dialysis machine while potentially waiting years for a donor to come forward.

Kazakhstan's shooting team has been left stunned after a comedy national anthem from the film Borat was played at a medal ceremony at championships in Kuwait instead of the real one.

The team asked for an apology and the medal ceremony was later rerun.

The team's coach told Kazakh media the organisers had downloaded the parody from the internet by mistake.

The song was produced by UK comedian Sacha Baron Cohen for the film, which shows Kazakhs as backward and bigoted.
