A FourFourTwo journo who's reporting on Dutch football claims "Feyenoord & Dirk Kuyt, according to Voetbal International, have started talks about a possible return. A potential stumbling block: salary."
Re: General Chat
read that earlier, would be gutted to see Dirk go
I know he has had a terrible season, but so did Carra, Stevie,Agger etc at one stage

Re: General Chat
Ah tbf Maj he is a hero in Feyenoord and he has been a great servant to our club but that miss from 2 yards on Sat is the likes we are getting from him now, yes I know he got an important goal in the CC final but its time he went because he isnt going to be happy being a bit-part player for us with only a few years left in his career he has to be playing.
Re: General Chat
Aye I know
If he does go I would hope he gets a good send off

Re: General Chat
He will get a great send off, just think we need just as big a character to replace him, that's my only concern. Like when Sami left, I think it hurt the dressing room a lot more than expected

Re: General Chat
Steven Gerrard knows exactly how Jon Flanagan felt after his back-pass went straight into the path of Junior Hoilett on Tuesday night because the Liverpool skipper has been in the same position himself.
Hoilett seized onto Flanagan's pass just before the Blackburn man was felled by deputising 'keeper Alexander Doni, resulting in the Brazilian being issued with a straight red card.
And Gerrard insists that while Flanagan might be down-hearted, the young full-back has the character and the determination to bounce back with the complete support of his teammates.
"He's probably been feeling how I was after I played a few bad back-passes," said Gerrard. "I played one in the Euros when I assisted Thierry Henry and I did it a couple of times in the Premier League as well.
"He's naturally going to be down because the game against Blackburn didn't go his way but he's done fantastically for us since he's come in. He played really well and has been one of our better players.
"He's a strong lad and a good character and we'll help him get over Tuesday and learn from it because I certainly learnt from the mistakes that I made.
"When I was Jon's age, I used to look up to the older lads and try and learn from them. If he's doing that to the likes of myself, Jamie, Pepe, Dirk then that's what we're here for - to help the young lads as well."

LIVERPOOL city bosses plan to demolish houses left derelict by Liverpool Football Club in order to speed up the regeneration of the Anfield area.
The ECHO has learned that council chiefs are hoping to get the properties the club owns in Lothair Road for free, rather than have to spend upwards of £1m to buy them.
The club would not indicate to the ECHO whether it intended to sell the properties to the council or hand them over.

Re: General Chat
Just read that next season Carragher and Cole will cost LFC £10mill quid unless we get rid......I feel sick when your think our supposed transfer budget is £20mill.
Re: General Chat
Jaysus, wonder how ruthless the owners are going to be

Re: General Chat
There should be another cull Carra included, there is no room for sentiment were we are situated now, that 10mill could be better utilised, its not like either of the above 2 are gonna contribute anything to the 1st team from now on anyway.

Well my gripe with Carra is the way he went about things and his "supposed" involvement in the removal of Rafa to get an English manager in.......... strange thing is though he signs a 2 year contract extension a matter of hours before the new owners took over........ So to answer your question he has another year left.
Re: General Chat
Aye, didn't Rafa refuse to give him a 2 yr contract?

Re: General Chat
Yep, if he has a year left surely there's nothing that can be done? He's going t be paid regardless of whether he plays or not?
